Ty Shults

“Smiley” has been Ty’s nickname since he was a kid, and it’s a fitting name for someone who brings positivity wherever he goes. It’s more than just a nickname—it reflects how he approaches his work, relationships, and helping homeowners bring their remodeling goals to life.

Ty’s not afraid to roll up his sleeves. With a background in agriculture, he thrives on the satisfaction of seeing a job through from start to finish. He’s drawn to remodeling for the same reason he enjoyed farming: the before and after. “I love seeing what we’ve accomplished—it’s tangible,” he says.

From driving seed trucks and managing harvest records for 30 farm fields to motivating crews through long, hot days, Ty learned early on the value of hard work, precision, and teamwork.

After earning degrees in communication, public speaking, and political science from Oregon State University, Ty was ready to jump into the working world. He spent four years as a sales estimator for a painting contractor, where he discovered a passion for relationship-driven sales. “I care about my clients. I like taking the time to understand what they want and helping make it happen. I love meeting people and making friends.”

What’s surprised him most about remodeling? “The amount of time it takes and the number of moving parts involved. It takes a lot of people to make it happen if you want it done right.”

Ty lives in Southeast Portland with his fiancée and is getting married in November, with a honeymoon planned in Mexico. Outside work, he enjoys running, gaming, watching football (go Seahawks!), and visiting Crescent Lake in Deschutes National Forest with his grandpa every June.
